Analyst Shoutout: Indico Data Recognized in Two Gartner Hype Cycle Reports

July 16, 2025 | Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Insurance, Insurance Claims, Intelligent Process Automation

Back to Blog

Getting named in a Gartner report once is exciting. Getting named in two major Hype Cycles in the same week? That’s cause for celebration.

We’re proud to share that Indico Data has been recognized as a reference vendor in the following Gartner Hype Cycle reports for 2025:

  • Hype Cycle for Property & Casualty Insurance: listed under both Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and Digital Underwriting.
  • Hype Cycle for Life Insurance: named as a reference vendor for IDP.

It’s always an honor to be recognized. However, it’s also a moment to explain how our role in this space is rapidly evolving.

From IDP to Decisioning: More Than Just Documents

Yes, we show up under IDP in both reports. But here’s the thing: IDP is where the conversation starts, not where it ends.

What insurers need today isn’t just another tool that extracts information from forms. They need platforms that understand context, learn from experience, and — most importantly — make informed decisions.

That’s why we’ve shifted from automation to agency.

Our Agentic Decisioning Platform is purpose-built for insurance. It enables teams to deploy AI agents that do more than parse documents: they triage, summarize, and  route.

It’s not about reducing paperwork. It’s about redefining how work gets done.

Gartner Sees the Shift, Too

Gartner’s analysis across both reports makes it clear: the industry is pivoting toward AI-powered decision augmentation.

In the Life Insurance report, Gartner notes:

“AI agents in insurance… could transform business operations and change how humans and machines work and interact” and will “fill talent gaps, automate core transactions, optimize CX and deliver operational efficiencies in a way that existing automation cannot.”

Meanwhile, in the P&C Insurance report:

“AI agents and GenAI will enable new processes and shift historical ways of working to semi- and fully autonomous business over time… paving the way for new work models, consumer engagement and agentic business models.”

That’s music to our ears. Because building toward that agentic future isn’t just on our roadmap; it’s already here.

What Decisioning Looks Like in the Real World

Our platform is already delivering transformative results in underwriting and claims:

  • 80%+ reduction in manual processing
  • 4x increase in submission capacity
  • 85% faster underwriting and claims turnaround

This isn’t theoretical. It’s live. It’s working. And it’s changing the game.

Why It Matters

These Gartner mentions are validating, but not just because they include our name. They reflect a marketwide shift from robotic task automation to real-time, AI-powered decisioning ecosystems.

This is what we call the Decisioning Era, and Indico Data is proud to be leading the charge.

Yes, we’re excited to be recognized in the IDP category. But make no mistake: the future isn’t about processing documents. It’s about empowering decisions.

Curious how it works?
